Off Along the Shore (Original Animation)

At last I finished the film. I started working on this last year, but couldn’t finish it due a lot of work that came tumbling down. After months and months, I took this project back up and thought of finishing before the end of 2020. As you can see, it didn’t go as I planned, otherwise it would’ve been up on the site already. And now, at last it’s done. YAYY!!!!

About the film:

Ummm….what should I say. When I read the poem, the one of the image that crossed my mind was a person who is walking on a beach at night and the scene had a somewhat a bittersweet feeling. The storyboarding took time, a lot of time (especially since I’m not that fast right now). After many iterations, I made THE ONE. I’m not sure if I will have the same opinion years later. But thankfully, the storyboard was made and then I started the work of animating. The snow took the most time. Many of the scene are static, it’s just the snow that’s falling. The snow took the longest amount of time animating. Then came the struggle with the animatics. Many animatics were made. Though it feels like a lot of hassle but animatics saves your film. Saves your film from unnecessary redo, the headache of not being able to connect through the film, and many other things. So, after animatics came the last part of finishing up. (NOTE: I’m skipping through many things that one does while working on animation). Then the post production came. During which I was recommended the instrumental by Kai Engel called “Cobweb Morning”. I’m really grateful to my sister for recommending it to me and Kai Engel for making such a beautiful piece (please keep making many songs, they are beautiful). And that’s how the film became what it became.

I’m also adding the link of the background music that was used.
